Soap Making Classes are Back!
We are delighted to finally be able to bring these popular classes back to our customers in Portsmouth. While we totally understood the need for grinding to a halt temporarily, these soap making classes – small and so informative – are back and we couldn’t be happier!
The first of our Soap Making 101 class for beginners will be held on May 4, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm right here in our shop at 175 Market Street in Portsmouth. A guide to cold process soap making, it will be taught by our friend Sarah, owner of Sarandipity Soap Company in South Berwick, Maine. Come learn about the ingredients that go into handcrafted soap, the tools that are used, and the necessary calculations required to ensure that soap sets properly. From what you learn, you will be able to create your own soap recipe and at the end of class will be taking home a loaf of soap, from which you will be able to carve six to eight bars. Your freshly made bars will be ready to use in three to four weeks.
This first class is limited to 6 participants. The event costs $50 which is non-refundable and includes all materials, a glass of local wine, and a light snack. To register, contact us at 603-294-0379. Quickly! Class is filling up. Our next class will be scheduled for the evening of May 18th.
Lemon is Lovely, Grapefruit is Great,
Lime is Sublime: Citrus Essential Oils Rock!
The first tang of Spring and we’re thinking of lemons…and grapefruit and mandarin orange, lime, sweet orange…all the makings of Citrus Essential Oils, the mainstay of any essential oil collection. The benefits of citrus in aromatherapy, skin care, nutrition, are so plentiful, we feel you should be including citrus essential oil products in your daily routine.
“Sunshine in a bottle,” citrus oil is considered a mood booster, an emotional enhancer, and popular as a natural room freshener. A natural antioxidant fighter, citrus essential oil is thought to boost the immune system, especially at times of the year when cold germs are easily spread. Some feel citrus can help to dispel anxiety while boosting physical and mental energy levels. Grapefruit and lemon oils in particular are thought to remove toxins from our skin cells.
You’ll find Citrus Essential Oils in so many of our all-natural products, for all the right reasons! The Lemongrass and Lime in our Foaming Hand Soap does a tremendous job on germs, while the scent will stay with you for part of your day, especially when paired with our Citrus Burst Body Lotion. The Lemon in our Shampoo and Conditioner Bars will remove impurities from your hair, leaving a pleasant, uplifting scent. Our new Citrus Shower Steamer is such an invigorating way to start off – or wind down – your day.
Finally, we rely on our Citrus Mist spray to help get rid of burnt smells and odors in the kitchen, when a new recipe attempt ends in an epic disaster! Poke around our site and read the ingredients of products in all categories. You’ll find lots of Citrus Essential Oils that may help contribute to your healthy lifestyle.
Introductory Offer! We’d like to introduce you to our citrus products with this special offer: You’ll get an 8 oz. pump bottle of Citrus Burst Lotion, 8 oz. bottle of Citrus Burst Body Wash, 2 Citrus Shower Steamers, 2 oz. spray bottle of Citrus Mist and a 2 oz. bar of Lemon Poppy Soap in a branded POSOCO pouch, all for $42, all natural and made with beneficial ingredients. That’s 15% off the regular retail price!Sea Glass Items and Terrariums
Top Our List of What’s New
As Beachcombers at heart, we were inspired by a poem from Bernadette Noll titled, “I Want to Age Like Sea Glass…” And so, we are launching a Sea Glass collection for those who love walking along the ocean side, collecting colorful bits of sea glass and sea shells. Our Sea Glass collection includes our natural, handmade Sea Glass Bar Soap (with an actual piece of Sea Glass from our Rocky New England Coast embedded in it), small Sea Glass framed pieces and amazing Sea Glass jewelry in sterling silver made by a local artist. Then we shared the poem with our designer Elissa, who came up with more ways to produce the poem in attractive, affordable versions that we hope will appeal to many of our customers. Expect to see more items coming soon in this exciting new collection!
A terrarium, or, “glass garden,” is a simple way to bring green indoors, to your home or office. We got interested in the idea of terrariums, populated by Air Plants, because of the minimum amount of care they require. And in this age of DIY, we thought the DIY terrarium kit would make a really fun project for a family, as a gift or to simply indulge your inner gardener. We provide all you need to create one unique terrarium to grace your home and increase the green. Our Tear Drop Air Plant Terrarium comes ready-made, inhabited by easy keeper Air Plants, and at 9 inches, brings green to even the smallest of spaces.
